make sure they have a good internet connection! a lot of my friends that come to my room while traveling have a lot of trouble with lousy connections. and some motels like that aren't expecting people to be in there very long and have weak connections.
this reminds me of a time me and one of my exes drove down hooker row in our town and got a cheap hotel room, it was even better than we thought because the bed was round with mirrors all around and velvet pillars and a mirror on the ceiling (bathroom was gross tho!)
