Foresight or pheromones

I've been reading a book by the leader singer of the Eels. In it, he describes meeting his wife for the first time. She was Russian and didn't speak English very well. He said when he saw her, he was struck with the thought, "This is the most beautiful girl in the world".
Her first words to him were, "You are not beautiful."
I don't know what that means. He didn't explain if that's what she was going for or not.
They got married so that she could get a Visa, of course, that they could actually spend time together. Their marriage only lasted about 5 years, I think.. but I digress.
Have you ever met anyone that you've felt inherently drawn to? Sometimes I pass people on the street that I feel kindred to.
Which is weird.
It could be pheromones at work, I guess. I find that.. there's not a consistent look, gender, dress.. that attracts me. Sometimes I just feel like I know people already. Obviously not in a literal sense, but a general feeling like that we would easily understand one another. The feeling is similar to deja vu.
Do you think that's odd? Have you ever felt that way about a stranger?

My family has been in town and my lil sis has been staying with me for the back week. While I love her tons, I'm ready to get back online.

Well, I made it to the West Coast! As you probably know, I had to come out for my brother's wedding. I'd never been before, so I'm loving it!
